Do your kids seem addicted to the electronic screens? Do you feel that you have lost your children to their online friends, Ipod, online videos, and gaming systems? Do you fear for their well being and development? Is online chat and socializing seeming to get all of your children’s attention?

“Back then, I could always at least watch TV with my kids but trying to watch what they’re doing on a computer screen is near impossible. Plus, they feel that it’s private like listening in to a phone conversation.”

If you said "yes" to some of these questions, then this site is for you.

This site is about increasing family interactions through technology and limiting how technology negatively impacts your child’s and your family’s life. Its about managing the impact that technology can have on children and family while recognizing and cultivating the benefits.

It’s about helping parents to parent in an age in which the most meaningful limits that you set for your children are not how far they are allowed to wander in the neighborhood or how late they can stay out, but what freedom they have to play video games and to participate in online electronic communities.

We do not claim to have all the answers. But we surely have the same questions as you. And we do NOT have simple answers to hard questions. We won’t say: “There’s no reason to have a TV” or “Violent video games and films are the reason for violence in today’s society". Our effort is provide useful answers, not simplistic and usable viewpoints on society. Our views come from extensive reading, talking to a lot of other parents, and constantly taking input from parents, kids, educators, and experts. We're glad you're here.....

Internet  Kids Safety - Understanding the Risks & How to Manage Them


"As parents, we understand the risks that come with our children's growing independence and we know how to protect and advise them. I remember when my young daughter wanted to ride her bike around the block on her own. I was anxious but I let her go. I understood the risks and where the boundaries should be set.

As wonderful a tool as the Internet is, it has many sites that are not age-appropriate for our children, sites with opportunities for our children to interact with strangers of all ages, and places that put children at risk for harm such as bullying, personal encounters, and addictive behavior." Strange though it may seem, a child can be very influenced by a stranger or group of strangers over the net and can make terrible lapses in judgement in giving out personal information
